Sliding Along to Frozen Waterfalls

What is winter if you can't embrace and enjoy all that powdery white?

Glide and slide along the glittering snow.           

On this particular cross-country skiing adventure, 

we went to Tower Waterfall in Yellowstone. 



Marathon Training in Elktown

This winter my sanity is coming from training for a marathon. A little crazy I know. Especially since I will be training in Elktown and Beartown USA (Luckily the bears are sleeping now). And in the winter training is a serious challenge. It seems that everything is against you-the snow, the ice, the cold, the wind, the sun, even the animals.

Happy NEW YEAR! 

I rung in the New Year with geysers instead of fireworks! I was in Yellowstone at Old Faithful for a week working. It was snowy, snowy, cold, cold. I think it ended up snowing 10 inches the week I was there. Then it was rrrrrreeeaaaalllllyyy cold. It got down to -15!!!!

Until this time I had been deceiving my toes and fingers that it was really winter by sheltering them in warmth of socks and gloves. But they caught on when it was below zero. And they retaliated against me for leaving the warmth of Peru!



Besides the cold, it was a fun week where I got to explore yellowstone in the stillness and quite of winter. Probably more bison than people. Skiing around steam with geysers and hot springs. Walking in a winter wonderland......
