Marathon Training in Elktown

This winter my sanity is coming from training for a marathon. A little crazy I know. Especially since I will be training in Elktown and Beartown USA (Luckily the bears are sleeping now). And in the winter training is a serious challenge. It seems that everything is against you-the snow, the ice, the cold, the wind, the sun, even the animals.

But no pain, no game (or is it gain?).....and whatever doesn't
kill you makes you stronger. Right? Right! If successful, that's one life goal crossed off my list!

So 2011 started with training for a marathon!
Training Time: 16 weeks
Total miles run: 383.2 miles
The marathon: Eugene, Oregon Marathon
The Date: May 1st, 2011
Training Location: Beautiful roads of Montana with mountains surrounding and animals gazing
(and occasionaly on the treadmil at the gym inside Yellowstone National Park)

My awesome training partner: Wendie (a running pro with over half a dozen marathons run and savvy in escaping bison and elk)
Sponsors: None yet, anyone interested????
Animal Sponsors: The Amazing Runner Dog Norris, Birds, Deer, Elk, Bison

"I run because it's so symbolic of life.
You have to drive yourself to overcome the obstacles.
You might feel that you can't.
But then you find your inner strength, and realize
you're capable of so much more than you thought."
