New Journey

It's official! I'm moving to Alaska! Last week I accepted a year round job in Denali.

What? Are you crazy?! Well, yes and no. The past few months I have been interviewing for a position as Reservations Coordinator with Camp Denali. I remember when they first announced the position and how I was thinking "Sounds great. But the winter!".  But after thinking about it and talking it through, it sounded like an amazing opportunity. Summers inside Denali,  vacation time, a salary, a challenging career-oriented job.  Downside, winters in Alaska are a challenge. The lack of light, the extreme temperatures, the harsh cold. But you find ways to deal and adapt. And I think I am tough enough :). So challenge accepted!

And staying in one place sounds nice these days. The last couple of years I have been frolicking around to beautiful places and a variety of locations. While it has been amazing and fun, it has been tiring constantly on the move, not sure of the next step. I feel like I am ready to stay in one place for a little while. Gain some community and sense of place.  No better place to stick around than the big ole' state of Alaska, especially in the wonder of Denali National Park.

I am excited for what is to come. The future is full of mystery and adventure. Can't wait for the tales and stories to come from living in Alaska.....

Rainbow of Colors

Everything is changing. The tundra is turning beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows. A rainbow of colors is on display in Denali. So much beauty these days......

Moon Glow

I have finally seen the dark. Night is upon us. After months of light almost all the time, I saw the moon and the darkness the other night. It was beautiful. A strange sight to behold after so much light. But a welcome friend.\

The moon was shining on the mountains causing them to SHIMMER.
